Lisa Theriot, who has written the lyrics for all the songs (save the one cover – Queen of Lilies, written by Sherry Kramer and Dave Thewliss) for Ken Theriot’s upcoming album, Outlaws and Bystanders, has been patiently waiting for Ken to finish the songs by composing the music. This has been their song-writing process for a number of years and the primary creative source for Ken’s last album, Human History.
As of last week, there were 5 songs that needed music written. Yesterday, William Tell got it’s music and became a completed song. So Ken was thinking “OK, only 4 more to go. But today, Lisa presented Ken with music (apparently it was already in her head) to the song, Dogs of War, which as you may surmise, is derived from the lines of Mark Antony in Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar. And according to Ken, the song is “hauntingly and gut-wrenchingly beautiful.”
So not only is there another song in the world, but there is also another one completed for the album. There are now only 3 songs needing music. They may make their July deadline after all:).
