Today is the first morning in May! And we know a song about that – sort of;-). Lisa Theriot’s “Lady Isabel and the Elf-Knight” has as its repeating refrain/burden the line “on the first morning in May.” Is it about gathering wild flowers and skipping through the garden, gathering in “the May?” Not so much. It’s about murder. But then, all the best old stories are. But in this one, – spoiler alert – the good guy (or make that “good girl”) wins.
